8 years, but had caravans & Tents before that
Hi we are thinking of going to Kent for a few days week after next.
Have been to Dover / Dungeness but thought we might go around the coast a bit, folkstone - Deal and wherever.

Probably use CL sites or a bit of wild camping, but would like to know
if there are any must see or must does, prefer to stay on the coast.

All ideas welcome, Cheers.

Hi , there is a caravan club site in Canterbury.

Nice site, nice city.

The coast around Margate is actually very nice. My favourite is Joss Bay . Easy parking there too.

can confirm the CC&C Canterbury site is good

I can confirm the C&CC site at Canterbury is good.. but Canterbury City Council has an wire for motorhomes on the new Dover Road.. go to the councils site and follow the links.. there is no height barrier as stated.. plus you get a bus ride in to town .. good pub for food across the road and has water and toilets etc., worth looking at.

Plenty of sites around a very long coast. There is a C&CC site at Folkestone on the top of the cliffs.. motorhomes only, no caravans or tents.

I have found several sites in the Sittingbourne area ..right on the estuary...

Some nice CL's on Romney Marsh and a CC site (Dale Acres I think it's called)
A couple of Pubs near Dungness, The Pilot and The Britannia as well as the Woolpack just off the road (A259) between Brookland and Rye. All have been known to allow MH to stop overnight.
Don't miss Rye a lovely historical town, quite unique with CL's just inland from it. Enjoy,

We stayed at a site near Whitstable which overlooked the estuary, interesting docks especially if you like seafood and the town is pleasant to walk. From there Broadstairs is nice as well as Canterbury etc :thumb:

But do not come to tunbridge wells

Kent is wonderful county.. but you need to miss Tunbridge Wells, it is not motor home friendly...no parking and our traffic wardens drive about in vans mob handed and issue tickets everywhere. High parking costs in the car parks for cars... suffer road works (this time gas laying last time 3 years of CCTV and cables for broadband act., ) .. expect grind locks, speed cameras.. lots of boarded up shops.. a centre part of the town that is an eyesore and has been board up for development for years and nothing happens.:Angry:

But thankfully Tunbridge Wells is a very small park of Kent .. and Kent is great overall and the seaside are is very good for motor homes on the whole...:thumb::thumb::thumb:
