After all my years in this world I just recently learned that you can get milk from a sheep to make cheese.... I watched on the box the USA programme that covers dinners, drive in's and Dives as well as Man v Food... they went to a sheep farm that made sheep cheese.

I love cheese and about to have my lunch .. yes sheep cheese (French).

Roquefort is most defo ewe's milk.

Mrs Shiftzz - you missed 'Total' Ewe's milk (Greek) yoghurt off your list! Yummy scrummy with acacia honey for your brekky ......

Never found any here round here though, always cow's. Used to sell it in Waitrose where I used to live.

Oh yes, of course Jenny - Total yoghurt, really yummy :thumb: they sell it (at a price) in our local Tesco - to be honest, though, if I'm anywhere near Lidl I buy Eridanous (not Greek and probably not ewe's milk although it doesn't say) 1kg bucket, well under half the price and the best 'greek style' yoghurt I have found :winky:

I didn't realize you could get non-dairy Ricotta....thanks :thumb:

Ricotta is dairy, but can be eaten if you have a dairy allergy - casein? - they produce ricotta from the whey left over from making the cheese. The casein is in the cheese and is not found in the whey, thus is does not contain it.
