We are new to the world of MH having bought a last century Le Voyageur a couple of months ago. So far we have just had a brief sojourn for a couple of nights in the hope of finding out how everything works. The sheer luxury of a hot air outlet at foot level while taking a piping hot shower in our MH made washing in a bucket of hot water outside a tent a distant memory.

Our first major expedition is set for mid June for about 3 weeks. Starting in the Lot (we live in France) we are off to Gerona to with a couple friends then up to Finisterre (just because it's there), Mont St Michel and Bayeux.

July and August will be stay-at-home time due to the influx of grockles of all nationalities. But we plan to head to England/Scotland in Sept/Oct.

I am tempted by the thought of a drive away air pump awning (though not the price) just to give a bit more outdoor but indoor space. But see how we get on without it before taking the financial plunge.

Welcome to Fun, your trips sound great. I'd wait and see how you get on without an awning as you can't use them on your wonderful Aires. Besides it never rains in France

Welcome from us too. We had a couple of lovely tours round France last year but staying in uk this year.

I agree with @Mousy dont be too hasty to buy an awning. When you first get a motorhome you buy lots of things that seem like a good idea at the time, then over the next couple of years start clearing out all the same things because you don't use them. It's all excess weight that needs to be considered.

Hi.gif
and a warm welcome from us. We have an awning that we acquired at the same time as our Talbot. We erected it on the back lawn, just to make sure that we wouldn't make fools of ourselves on a campsite. We've travelled thousands of miles and we have never used the awning ...... in 6 years!

Thank you - this supports my view that we should suck it and see for 2016 at least.

We've got a drive away air pump awning, we find it invaluable, though, that was when we toured in Ralph and Billy Bob, maybe we need it with the Hymer. BTW this is Ralph, the blow-up and Billy Bob...
