Hi just booked euro tunnel for the twin lakes in September, happy with the price, we are taking the motor scooter on our new, EASY HYDRA TRAIL, told there was no extra cost, well there is on the tunnel.
If the wheels touch the ground you have to pay and they want £170 for me to take it, ill be leaving it at home at that price, ill try the ferry next time. I know I should have checked first.

I usually pay over £200 single trip, but i do tow the car down on the A-frame they also charge for the dog. then add the cost of the tolls if you use toll roads, but if you like fishing you will love twin lakes(y)

I have no idea but couldnt you take the motorbike completely seperately on a different ticket. Just take it off at folkestone and put it back on at Calais. That must be a lot cheaper than 170 nicker

Then he would pay for motorhome, hydra trail, and a scooter as well as the hydra trail is basically a two wheeled trailer that would not go inside the van.

Couldn't you lift it off it's wheels somehow?

Unfortunately they charge the same price whatever the trailer size is, a 2m long goods trailer is the same price as a 8m caravan.

Who told you there would be no extra cost?

You'll pay extra for a trailer on the ferries as well.

They do not charge for the length on tunnel but they do on the ferry my rig with car is just over 12 meters, how much would that be on the ferry?

i ve just looked at a video of the thing and (again without any knowledge) the wheels coming off for a very short journey would appear an option

It sounds as though things have changed since i owned a HydraTrail as i never got charged extra going the tunnel, i just used to put down it had bikes on the back and that was it. They may now have changed their policies but at the extra cost it certainly would not be worth it for me. Be interesting to hear about any others who have booked just by ticking the bike box and then got stopped when trying to check in. Of course it sounds as though it is just not worth the risk now.
