jpg to svg files (1 Viewer)

OK all you computer whizzes is there a free down load that I can use to convert jpg to svg files? I've bought a design program but to import any of my old images I need to convert them.

SVG is a vector format where the picture is described mathematically. ie line1 (x,y) -> (x2,y2)...

.jpeg files are bitmap files that have each pixels colour described.

You can do it but it takes a lot of work as you basically have to do the conversion of the image yourself. There are some tools to make it easier but you still need to do some/most of the work yourself depending on the image.

PS: I use inkscape which is an excellent bit of software. But I didn't realise you could import jpg and convert to svg easily.
