Dave & Dawn,

Really sorry to hear about the passing away of your "little ginger terrorist". He looks a right character in that photo.
We are several years on from losing our wee Bobbie, but even now, every time a piece of food drops off the worktop onto the floor, Rita and I both look at each other, remembering who would have been on top of it like a shot.

Kindest regards,

Jock & Rita.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We were very suprised how buster coped when we lost Ruby at 16 and a half . After all she had been with him since bringing him home as a 12 week old puppy. (7 years)
So she was his adoptive mum when Alls said and done. Ralph took Ruby to the vets to do the dreaded deed.
Buster was in the pickup waiting. When he went back to the van with just the lead, it was as though buster knew. Ralph was in bits, but glad buster was there. They had a moment. Then came home.
Then , a few months later , we were at malham and buster was dragging on his lead in the pub. We couldn't think why , he's the sort just to lay there normally not make a fuss, good.
Anyway Ralph went to the bar and had a look where he was wanting to get. There, was a dog . The double of Ruby. :( He went over to the couple and had a chat.
When he came back with the drinks he told me. Then got buster, took him over towards the dog.
Buster pulled all the way. Eager to get there.
As soon as he got to the other dog , he wasn't interested. Wanting to come back to me. I was watching of course in floods of tears. As I am now ! Again......
Hopefully Jake will be fine. Buster has been. We've often thought of getting another , to keep him company. But he's fine. It's also a lot easier with one .

Thanks everyone for the thoughts. Much appreciated. (y)

No doubt we will be acquiring another rescue dog soon as Mrs Deluxe does the rehoming for the local rescue centre. I keep hoping that a flat coated retriever comes in...... that would make even Jake look bright ;)
Sorry for the loss of Ginger he looks like he had a happy innings. If a Rhodesian Ridgeback /Rottweiler cross comes in don't go near it they bite.;)

We've fostered a few Rottie crosses and they've been great. Not at all keen on ridgebacks though. Obligatory picture of our favourite Rottie x - sasha is lovely. Paws like plates of meat, though. Still see her around in Sudbury

On and off for many years.
Sorry for the loss of your pal. We never had another dog after our Kerry went to play elsewhere - sometimes I wish we had, even 25 years on I miss her like crazy.

@Bailey58 I'm sure you found the right words...but I just can't read! I started crying with the first sentence! I kept thinking in the morning: Open your eyes girl, or you'll walk on Licorice!

@DuxDeluxe Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure he had a good life... but I know it doesn't always help with sadness

Of course he did, that's what dogs do! My dog burps very loudly after every meal, never fails to make us laugh how such a little dog can burp so loud.
