well, after what seems like an age, we finally took deliver of our new (first) MH.
So, prepare for a load of basic questions!
Firstly, our driveway slops a little and also drops away slightly to one side. So, trying to level the van last night was a frustrating experience!
How crucial is it to get exactly level for the fridge to work efficiently? I managed to get it fairly level in the end, but the bubble in the spirit level struggled to stay the right side of the line:)

Congratulations! Looks a beauty! - wishing you many happy travels (y)

Ref the fridge: As far as I know there shouldn't be any problem if on EHU. Ours works OK on gas with quite a lot of slope lateral and longitudinal - it's a case of try it and see - but it won't switch onto gas straightaway after the engine's switched off, we have to be patient and give it up to 20 minutes.

Congratulations ... nice looking motorhome now you just need to get out and enjoy.

Most modern fridges seem to be ok with a slight slope .... we often pitch at strange angles and have never had a problem, so try it and see.

Your fridge should be Ok on a slope of upto 6 degrees - side to side (which is front to back as you're parked)
Try with no levelling and if you have a problem you can level if required

I use one of those 'T' shaped levels & if the bubbles aren't touching either end of their respective vials I'm happy. TBH the fridge will work as long as your tea / beer / wine doesn't look as though it's trying to climb out of the cup / glass.

If the beer doesn't slide off the table, you are level enough! Don't get too obsessed with getting the bubble in the middle.
Looks a lovely van, enjoy it.

Thanks for all the comments, will get some pictures up of the interior later today.
We are absolutely thrilled with it, and gradually getting to know how everything works etc!
Been busy getting some anti-slip matting cut to size and gradually getting things loaded. We are hoping to head off on Wednesday morning next week for a few days on our first ever trip in a MH:) probably along the south coast, Durasic coastline/Exmouth area.

Yes, probably just obsessing to much about the fridge and getting everything dead level, but as everything is literally new to us, am on a steep learning curve:)

I suggest not going too far for your first trip out, at least initially, so you can easily pop back home to collect the things you forgot to pack. :) However, the south coast does have shops so you can always buy what you are missing. :D

And if you are not used to driving a MH remember the rear wheels will take a shorter route on corners so can clip a curb at junctions if you take them too tight and conversely, the back of the vehicle will swing out. Just keep an eye on your mirrors and check what is happening at the back and down the sides!

Your fridge probably has an auto setting, so you won't need to manually change over from gas to mains or 12 v, unless you want to. If that's the case, then the gas won't light for about 15 minutes or so after you have been travelling. You don't want it sparking itself alight while you are filling with fuel....
We never bothered too much about being level, as long as we were comfortable moving inside the van, it was level enough and we never had a problem with the fridge.
If you are using levelling blocks, you soon get the knack of positioning them correctly.
