What is best way to get to Sicily from Italy by either MH(6 mtr) or small scooter considering price time taken?

Depends where you are coming from, there is a short crossing across the straits Giovanni to Messina or maybe genoa to Messina if you don't want to drive down italy. Probably others too.

Genoa - Palermo, Livorno - Palermo, Salerno - Palermo. google Italy to Sicily lots of crossings, depends how much of Italy you want to visit en route..

Grimaldi lines and Gran Navi Veloci are the big operators.
