They parked mine too close last week, only a scratched bumper tho.
It has cost them £1250 tho.
And the boat was near EMPTY !!!!!

That sort of damage would kill me, if the wife didn't

Looks like an A frame attached, has the car been obliterated? Feel for them.

Neither of us are good on ferries so I would have changed my booking.

The damage is staggering, several truck fell over and flattened the cars parked beside them.
Looking at some other photos at least 6 cars and a couple of vans were written off as well

Not sure whether its an 'a' frame or just the chains etc for securing the MH ... can't tell.

I bet they were heartbroken that their 'home' has been destroyed.

I do agree that it was strange to go to sea, who had the final say? The captain, Irish ferries, Cherbourg port authority. If the weathers bad at an airport, the airport closes it down.
Some of the lorries are chained in the photos but not all. As someone allready said it takes a lot to turn a 40+ ton lorry on its side.
Not sure on the individual ferry company but when we came over in November on a calm flat sea with Brittany ferries as the lorries where coming to a stop on deck the crew where strapping them down. As an onlooker it just seemed like part of the normal procedure.
Read somewhere that your own insurance would have to cough up for damage to you vehicle then down to them to try to claim from the ferry operator.

I'm sure the motorhome wouldn't have been chained as nowhere suitable on the vehicle to attach chains. If you zoom in you can see it's an A frame attached to the tow ball.

Still waiting for a video of onboard for this, someone must have filmed it.
I remember seeing this video of a ferry going to the Shetlands. I would have s**t a brick.

Happy ferry crossing all.
