This isn't MH related but has anyone had Iridotomy-holes layered in the eye to relieve pressure, Glaucoma.
I have to go for this, just waiting for the appointment!
If you've had it done what's it like, did it work, do you find your eyes water more or are dryer? Any info really.

This can be classed as motorhome related Srimp64 eyes are a big part of motorhoming.. Sorry I have no idea of your complaint but I took my wife to the hospital eye clink yesterday, she has bleeding on her retina, the skill level of the specialist was excellent and they have offered injections into the eye that should stop and disperse the blood mass.. Amazing....

Hi, I had this done a couple of months ago and I was terrified, but no need to be, it was entirely painless, just felt funny after for a few days, 3 weeks of drops 3-4 times daily to stop any infections, but no after effects. if I had to had a need inserted I would have to have anaesthetic as terrified of needles in eyes, but no needles at all. Hope it goes well and this puts your mind at rest. I then use drops regulars every night to keep pressures down

I had both eyes done around 3 years back after a sudden pressurization and diagnosis of Glaucoma.
They have stayed open and my pressures have been perfect since.

No after symptoms but I did notice a slight visual anomaly as I could make out a very slight image through the hole in bright light at certain angles, however I got used to it and don't see it unless I look for it.
BTW I was offered an NHS appointment in around 2 weeks ahead, however I chose to go private and pay for the procedure. I was in for my first consultation next day and had the procedure done within 5 days.

The decision was made to go private as the NHS laser was an older generation than the one that the private hospital had, the person using it would have been the same person. I chose my Glaucoma specialist myself as I was paying. I had been in the opticians business for a number of years so knew who was who in yorkshire.

The procedure just feels like having a small static shock to the eye, the eye is anesthetized and a lens is pushed on to it as the laser procedure is done. Its painless but you will be nervous as its not a usual thing for someone to push against your eye. No Pain and far less hassle than having a filling.

If you need any more information just ask, and don't worry

I had an iriditomy last Wednesday morning before a corneal graft that afternoon. Quick and painless. For the iridotomy the eye was numbed with drops (stung a bit) before I sat on a stool opposite the consultant. I resting my chin and forehead on the supports of the machine and he used a completely painless laser to make 3 or 4 openings in the iris. Took seconds - amazing technology really.

It worried me when I saw them using the same machin in the eye department as we had to cut cobalt steel with..
Only two settings.. delicate and death ray ! LOL !!
