Rather than mess around converting video file types to go onto a USB stick, I am thinking of buying a cable similar to below to plug into the tv via a HDMI lead from my iPad.

Anyone tried one? Just after the easiest solution ......

Hi, most of the things work except Sky Go who dissable the HDMI output. Gave up faffing about with leads and went for the apple TV instead. press the icon and the whole unit 'mirrors' on your TV, great for games etc, (not Ipad 1).

This is an easy solution. I bought a similar but much more expensive device from an Apple store. We used it in the van watch on a larger screen. Do take note of the warnings of what can't be transferred.

I've only used it for photos and videos but it works ok. Just be aware of the limitations others have mentioned.
