Hi all, can youi tell me if you can run portable dvd players off the invertor whilst driving, i assume by driving it will recharge the lesiure batterries anyway but is there a reason why i shouldnt do this. the portable dvd players we gought for the kids seems to be a difficult size to get 12v chargers for. 2100w invertor by the way, also if any of you know where to buy 12v charger for technika portable dvds bought in tesco as they dont have them:thumb:
thanks
John

Its not a very portable DVD player if it needs a 240V supply to run it. Did it not come with a 12 volt psu/lead?

Running a DVD player that probably only takes about 30 watts or so from a 2100 watt inverter is hugely wasteful of power but then as its only for while driving it won't be noticeable. Shouldn't really be a problem with running items off the inverter whilst driving other than the added risks of having 2100watts available at 240 volts in a moving vehicle and possibly some interference issues.

you would do a lot better to get 12 volt PSU/lead for it though.

I use a 70w Laptop car power supply, which is a regulated supply selectable at 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, or 24 volts.

Provided one of these matches the DVD player input voltage, it would be a safer way to travell.

Available from Maplins, and others, at a cost of around £20.00....that was on "special Offer" six months ago, could be a lot cheaper now!!:thumb:

you should be able ton buy a 12v power supply to recharge your player battery from your local electrical gadget shop.

12v 500ma should do it.

Cant see much of a problem with running a dvd player whilst traveling from your inverter,I run my slow cooker from mine whilst on the move,a lovely rabit stew when I stop for the night.
