When touring in Europe,I pull a trailer with my motorbike in it,should I insure the trailer separately,I did last year, any thoughts?Another advantage I have found with the trailer is I can take lots more stuff,barbecues,chairs,tools and all the heavy stuff I would otherwise have to carry in the MH or in the top box,potentially exceeding the payload of the MH costs a bit more for ferries etc but for me worth it.

Hi, we have a smart on a trailer, the trailer is insured on the van policy with Saga value £1200 and cost about £15 a year covered UK and Europe also detached, when on site or at home. :thumb: Bob.

Always worth insuring the trailer and make sure the contents are insured as well - generally an insurance company will insure fairly high values for a relatively a small sum. They may well insist on wheel clamp and hitch lock being fitted when not attached to the tow vehicle but that is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
