Another mine field to negotiate. As RAC members we can get insurance and if we join the caravan club (£48) we can get free breakdown and recovery. Should we join the club and get a quote from them as they also offer club discounts. What I don't want is to get loads of quotes from all over the shop if someone can recommend a sound piece of advice to minimise the hassle I have to go through.

Insurance quoting is a bit of a dark art and depending on your risk profile what Company offers a competative quote to one may not to another.
The only way is to ring around. I`m with AIB and very happy, get UK & EU breakdown cover included as well.
I don`t think there are any shortcuts I`m afraid
Good Luck

It's no different to any other type of vehicle insurance. There is no single obvious choice, everyones situation is different.

If you don't want to take the time to get as many quotes as possible then you might as well just pick someone at random and use them. If you take someone's recommendation of a particular company then that's all you're effectively doing.

I'm a newbie
Just been quoted by the Caravan Club for insurance, the online quote form did not work and said sorry...............but I did call the number provided with the "Sorry" notification and quoteted the given reference number and got what I thought was a very reasonable quote considering the value of the MH.

A bit of confusion RAC do a deal with the Camping & Caravan Club, the Caravan Club use Green Flag.

You are better off using one of the specialist Motorhome insurers, Comfort Insurance is very competitive and their 365 day European breakdown cover is £60 done via RAC no weight or size limits.
