Great photos. We set off on our 10 day travels to the Outer Hebrides on Friday morning. We are doing the "hopscotch 12" just Ralph , I , and the dogs.

I'm no expert Geo when it comes to pushing wheelchairs but I would think you'd be able to access most places we did maybe some beaches would be hard.

On the Isle of Lewis......Tolsta Beach a dead end road ! 14 miles or so north of Stornoway !! Just after the beach with the steep hill down to the toilets !:thumb::Cool

If you need an overnight stop at Tarbert (ferry terminal) then the pub next to the Harris Hotel let you stop on their car park !!! That's where we will be in September !!
Who else will be on Lewis in September ???:Cool:

firstly just got zoe a type of disabled trike

but without the front wheel,, it goes on to my saddle stem, and has gears
handlebars the lot,, so should get us out and about more get her excised
almost spelled exorcism almost the same when it comes to zoe,, worried about going for miles with no wheel chair,, i may adapt to pull that behind in-case we hit wee villages or toilets etc,, ,,anyway still out and abouth trossachs run from last thursday, massive motorhome in callander carpark iv feel in love,,,,,, to big for off road wilding,,,,in Scotland,,,picture included,,

metal sculpture by artist rob mulholland, in loch Earn
. loch Earn its stunning but to many long term campers .luggers that have stayed there for months are the travelers .who knows?? anyway one night there was enough midges galore ,,, stayed up in the Forrest for a night near Aberfoil ,Dukes Pass, very nice in with 5 european morhomes good vibe,. apprx 3 miles up the hill into the national park,....

then up in the hills again near Crieff near waterfalls quiet and great views,,.

last night back to my old haunt near luss loch lomond.

what has changed in the law everywhere is long term campers and vans,, local forrestry and villages seem helpless and what a mess of litter also the amount of fires at the edge of the lochs and rivers are every 100 yards ... then you go away from the rivers etc and all is good,,
i have noticed only heated motorhomers are out in the winter,,,,:thumb:

don't know your motorhome but I'd say you need to get a bracket/carrier ,made up for the back to carry the trike/bike.
are the wheels easily removed ie quick release, that might make it a bit easier to stow.
rob Mulholland? wonder if he is a relative lol.
as usual a great read.

it strips down a bit but ye im thinking if a rear bike rack

that will take all this , roof rack is out because of windows .satellite and solar panels etc.. anyway in a year im changing to a wee bit bigger with bunks at the rear and garage,, so maybe solve problem,, not as large as the one i spotted and was shown around , in callander,, wow, .
90k for a motorhome,, :Doh::Doh:
appreciate imput mate thanks,,

until you get one with a garage/storage area you don't really have any other option, I don't think.
I'm thinking the carrier would have to be specially made.

We're off to Skye & Mull for the next fortnight and would welcome any hints as it's our first trip to Scotland in the motorhome and would like to try a couple of nights 'wild camping'

Got back from Scotland yesterday. Last stop was Falkirk and the wheel, what an amazing feat of engineering, and the beautiful kelpies. Must go back next year during opening times and go on a barge and try the wheel out.

Probably too late for this trip but can I suggest BritStops for further travels. We joined 6 weeks ago, got our book delivered to Australia, and have been busy planning our 10 weeks Motorhoming in Scotland (mixing club sites, camping grounds, wild camping suggestions and BritStops). The range of threads available on Funsters is outstanding and has helped us incredibly.

For any of you heading to the West, this small site has just opened , the site is very close to the pub and village shop.
http://www.ardfernmotorhomepark.com/ Outstanding scenery and close to the Yacht haven where a member of the Royal family keeps their yacht. We live just over the hill, so let us know if your visiting.

Wife and I stayed in the pub a couple of months after I retired. It's great. The monkfish curry used to get a fabby reviews but think it's off the menu now.
Andrew and Sarah look after you well in the cosy wee bar which has open fire. So cosy they had a chimney fire when we were there!
They're dog friendly too.
Worth a wee run along to the end of the road (dead end) but there is turning and parking spaces. You probably wouldn't have a problem wild camping.
The road over the hill to the marina is twisty in some parts but you'll find out how the other half lives when you get there!
