I'm a Motorhome Virgin!!! (1 Viewer)

Hi

Just thought i would introduce myself, as I have just bought a motorhome and need all the help I can get!!

Been a very happy caravaner for four years but on our six week trip around France in September we saw the advantages of a motorhome for moving on touring, so decided to give it a go.

Get our van in early-mid November and with some camping cheues still on the camping card will go and try it out.

I look forward to joining in the forum - when I have learned something!!!

Hi and a BIG WELCOME , when you are in france :Cool: you've got to try the aires weve been 5 times, 3 weeks at a time great money saving as most don't charge and those that do range from 5 euro to about 10 euro some only charge for water or electric as I said several weve stayed at you get free water electric and pitch. Enjoy your camper weve been doing it since 1979,can't get enough:thumb: .

Will you find many camp sites open in November? lots close down until the spring, same for a lot of the aires, the water is often turned off in the winter months. As you have been before, you will find not a lot of differance, except you do not have a car to go in to town with.

Are you going to get bikes? if you are remember you need the warning plate on the back ..striped unit.. semi cardboard in Europe except in Italy when it has to be metal one.

Remember you may need mud mats for a motor- home as they are heavier than a caravan.

Have you considered an ADAC memberships?

I also pick mine up first week November, first I;ve chosen and bought on my own. Very apprehensive, but looking forward to a few months in Spain or Portugal over the winter.
