Now, I've done a Google search, and these come up as 6volt golf buggy batteries. So I'd need 2 for 12 volts = £230 or £246.

I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong...........................sure as hell someone will.....:whatthe:

Your not wrong; but these batteries are a bit special very deep cycle and at least £10 each cheaper than you will find on Fleabay

I found this ....................

There are significant internal differences between a deep cycle battery and what is commonly termed a Leisure battery. These revolve around the number, size and make up of the plates contained within the battery case. As a guide, a leisure battery will have a maximum depth of discharge of 50%. A deep discharge battery has a maximum depth of discharge of 80%. As an example, if we take a 100 ampere hour battery, the leisure variant would have 50 usable amps prior to requiring a full charge cycle. The leisure battery would offer 80 usable amps prior to requiring a full charge cycle. A useful 30% increase in usable power.

and as I'm looking to replace a battery fairly soon, I'm doing more research.

EDIT

Just checked the leisure battery, and after 4 days of solar panel charging, its up to 12.7 volts. So I think I'm okay for a while yet.

I personally beleive that trogen are the best value for money and in the top three batteries available, this a genuine super price, I am not making a penny out of them, just trying to get a deal together where we all get batteries we need at an excellent price.

We are up to ten including mine already.

All the best Rick

Here I am still at work 6.45pm on Saturday and likely to be another 4 hours yet, but just a quick update, 18 ordered so 2 to go to reach the target, but if any one requires moe than two no problem 20 is the minimum not the maximum, my numbers at the top of the post, so feel free to call, these will go up in April I am sure.

All the best Rick.
