One major;

A cruise control so that my speed doesn't keep creeping up.

One minor;

More drain holes in the shower/paddling pool. :)

Bigger washroom facility, the shower is like a vertical coffin for me, not enough headroom when drying so my head is out the opened roof vent (raised floor), not enough towel/arm waving space for drying operations. Also, not much room to manoeuvre when "dropping the kids off at the pool" either. Only really became a mental issue for me this year due to increased use of the van. Domestic Management is a dwarf so she fails to comprehend my plight.

We're gonna need a bigger van.

Either that
a] I still had the old one (sold last week)
or
b] I already had the new one (arriving sometime after winter)

I have thought long and hard about this one..
If I could only change one thing it would be the electrical system. Sargent system is extremely good and well put together but vastly over complicated.

Maybe one day if I get really bored and get a few bob to spare I will rip the lot out and use a nice simple solution of my own design

I am astonished at all these moans. Doesn't anybody actually look at the motorhome before they buy it???

Often problems don't materialise until you are actually using the darned thing. In my case I hadn't appreciated how my back would feel when having to pull the bed out every night and put it away in the morning before I could get washed and dressed, or the lack of anywhere to lay down for a quick kip during the day, or having no access through the rear doors and having to go outside if I need something out of the boot.

As someone else has said, the person who can make a small panel van turn into an RV once it's parked up will make a fortune. ;)

As we have a very large garage and @chippy63 is a brilliant carpenter he's going to change it to a smaller garage which will mean we gain a single bed the full width of the van:clap2: that's after he's fitted the solar panel on the roof and installed a full oven in the kitchen:hi5:

I guess I'll have to ask him first:giggler:

More 12v sockets around the MH and a meter that tells you how much is left in the battery without having to go plug in a multimeter.

It's location it spends to much time in the uk when it should be in sunnier places.

You realize there is an engine and you can move it, right?

We would like a decent oven to replace the useless Smev oven. It never was any good and it’s got even worse lately.

We decided the layout advantage of a transverse rear bed outweighed the advantage of a bed you can lie out flat in..which is true.. But at that time on a Sunday morning the extra 4" would be nice lol
That's what my wife said.

Beyond doubt, the sodding fiat cab floor(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)

Whoever decided it was okay 'not' to make a custom cab area floor for motorhome converters should be shot, mine is like walking on a bouncy castle, it really gives me the hump! Apart from that, and the seemingly endless stream of faults we have had to solve, (don't ask) we absolutely love the layout of our Rapido 9048.

the post manufacturing inspection process before its signed off and delivered to the dealer. Far to many faults after handover because of this lack of professionalism in this sector as compared to car dealerships. (no they don't get it right either and the columns are smaller). The dealer that has to go over a protracted make good in your time once you have taken delivery.

Someone on this forum once said "you have to buy 3 motorhomes before you get everything you want/need". The one thing I would change would be to swap the singles for a double island bed.

Well, rented one, bought one, bought a caravan, rented another MH, should be OK then :)

Simple - I’d have a magic glove box that was full of Euro’s (large denominations) that refreshed when ever I opened it and took a handful out :)

We don't use our electric step much worried it may pack up or something? But due to a knee replacement, finding comfortable step as i depart the van, is where my problems start? Hubby sorted out steps, sat in a built up wooden tray?, Always looking for a lighter alternative.?
