I used to do the Bristol Balloon Fiesta every year for years .............. but in a balloon not a moho ;)

This thread makes me feel a little sad that I am no longer a balloon pilot AND now moho less :(

If you are just surfing this thread and you have not been to a balloon fiesta before, trust me, Bristol is one of the best you can see anywhere in the world! (y) Just GO there :D

You don't need a motorhome either a tent will do ;) the farmer welcomes tents :)

I have just seen this thread, I am assuming that Thu and Fri are the best days to be there so I will travel down on the Wed.
I shall look at the Parsonage Farm site now, thanks for the information.

Would getting there on Friday evening be a nightmare, and has anyone done this one with dogs in tow?
We've never been to the fiesta and only live an hour down the road so just wondered how it would be worth travelling down early evening on Friday

Lots of traffic around the Festival area which peaks on Saturday (traffic queuing for several hours last year) so would avoid travelling then. Don't think that there is a Night Glow on the Friday so might be quieter then - we were at Cotham Park so a walk away before so didn't see the Friday traffic but sure some that stayed at Parsonage Farm will be along shortly & know more.

So many good things on that weekend. Love Malvern but decided to give it a miss this year and go to the Saltfleet Gala, would have also done the Balloon Festival if it hadn't clashed.

We're set up at parsonage farm ready for the festival tomorrow. Any other funsters here? Our flag is flying

Our plans had to change as Amanda has been called in to see her consultant tomorrow . We usually get there earlier in the week to get a good position near the top end of the field. We couldnt have got there till Thursday afternoon it would have been no good to us . We shall miss being there so lots of photos pretty please . Enjoy the fireworks and the early morning flight tomorrow xxx Kate

If I were there I would pop straight over but sadly I only have four weeks until I head south for twin lakes and I have the landscapers in so I really cannot leave...... Griff
Cold beer and wine a plenty .... Shame you can't make it. Enjoy twin lakes, we're hoping to get there next year.

I arrived Thursday afternoon and saw nothing until Saturday which turned out to be absolutely brilliant, and there was me ready to give it all up on Friday.
The parsonage farm site was perfect also so thanks to ambilkate for pointing me towards that.

Nice to meet you and sorry we missed the balloon flights on Saturday. We had previously booked Malvern and were meeting friends there otherwise we would have stayed. Met someone today at the services on our way home who had been at Bristol all weekend and told us how fantastic it was on Saturday so think we will go again next year. Also add my thanks to @Ambilkate for the fabulous location
