Call that a near miss?
You ain't seen the drivers in Norfolk and Lincolnshire!:Eeek:

That sort of incident is a daily occurrence for me.....
On my regular travels between Lincolnshire and Norfolk along the A17 and A47 I too see them every single day.
On my way to Leiston (I know it's in Suffolk but that's just semantics) one day last week I encountered and was delayed by FIVE separate RTC's and then another on the way back.
I ride bikes as well as drive cars etc and always take pride in my driving with the "Life Saver" being as much a part of my driving as my riding.
I have Security Driver Training too and drive defensively as a matter of course and yet, because I drive a BMW X5 I make loads of new friends every week just by being wherever I am at the time.
I had the audacity to overtake a Caravanner type at just under 70mph on the A47 dual section by Norwich last week and actually managed to draw a one fingered salute from him.
WTF is that all about??

yes there was John....32 seconds into the video but hard to see in the clip.

Bloody hell mate.. New name for you from now on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pappa 'eagle eye' John !

Well spotted mate :thumb:

Mind you.. not sure it should not be about another 100 yards up the road.
I bet the backed up waiting traffic almost reaches that sign sometimes

there may have been a second sign further back...never looked.

they cant put them too far away or they forget where they put them and dont get collected after the works have finished.

we have one or two 'road closed' and 'diversion' signs been in place for over two years now....:Eeek:

Not sure that makes any difference really.

It's like asking what if the red cars brakes failed ?

The point is there could have been anything over the hill - an animal, a child on a bike, a broken down car, a slow moving tractor, an alien abduction beam .... the red car was driving too fast for the conditions and was unable to stop safely within the distance that the driver could see.

Just an update on the clip 'Problem at Roadworks'

There were ample signs before the road works so the contractors are not to blame.

The only person to blame is the red car driver.

How do I know?

Because the driver is my daughters stepson and he admits he was going miles too fast.

What worries me is that if he'd steered to the right instead of to the left he would have run slap bang into me - and my subscription to these forums might have had to lapse!

I blame the silver car in front of the red one.

Huge gap between it and the car in front.

Best thing to do when driving is to keep a large gap between you and the car in front.BUSBY:Smile:
