In our usual disorganised manner, we have left it too late, and are now struggling to find a site for an Easter break. We would ideally like EHU,and within walking distance of a village/town. Don't mind up to 2.5 hr journey, from our home in Lichfield. Any ideas?

Have a look at Chester Camperfest & Food Festival, seems to have most things on your list and a few places left.

It's exceptionally near to Chester - but will you have time to see the Rows? LOL

We went to Chester last year, and it was great, but we got stuck, and as we have recently bought a bigger MH, didn't want to risk it. Also although we booked EHU, we couldn't get close enough to connect, due to soft ground. I think this time, we would ideally like a site, with facilities.

How about Valley Crusies Abbey Llangollen, really nice walks and a couple of pubs not far away.

LOL @Carol - I meant time once you've got to Chester, what with a) the food and drink festival and b) being on a MHF Rally with all that wall to wall 'socialising' !

We live in Rugeley and will be going to Chester this year, last weekend we went to Bridgevilla Campsite near Wallingford in Oxfordshire great little site and plenty to do in the town which is in easy walking distance and will be going to Swiss Farm Touring Park in Henley on Thames this weekend which is another park up and walk site both within approx 2 hr drive. You also have the Peaks and if all else fails Kingsbury Waterpark which is our fallback option.

We went to Chester last year and had a great time. There are 2 reasons we don't plan on returning this year
1. Because it's not too far from home, we ended up with a stream of visitors
2. We got stuck in the mud in our little MH, which was a pain, this year we have got a much bigger one, and don't want a bigger problem.
