Started making my Christmas Pudding.
Yesterday spent time weighing things and chopping things. Finally left the dried fruit soaking overnight in guinness, rum and orange & lemon Juice.

This morning up early 7am to start the mixing. They will take 10 hours to cook so early start necessary. By 9 am all mixed and four pudding basins filled and suitably covered. Big pot on the hob and the water just coming to the boil to steam the puddings.

Carried the four pudding basins to the hob on a tray, balanced the tray on the spare jets on the hob. Picked up the first basin to put in the pot and the tray with the other three slides gracefully off the hob onto the worksurface. Manage to elbow two of them towards the back of the worksurface but the fourth basin slides off drops onto the tiled floor. Smashes into dozens of pieces.

No way I would risk fishing out the broken glass shards, son into the bin with it and now cooking the other three.

As I need four I recon I shall be making more next week.

How anoying !

If Isaac Newton hadn't invented gravity wouldn't have happened.

Peter, message from Barbara -- Aldi & Lidl both have Christmas Puddings in, so save yourself some hassle. She added that if you are going to make another 4 puds, send one of the surplus 3 puds to her :ROFLMAO:

Anyway most have nuts in them and I hate nuts in puddings.

Peter forgive me, but I can just picture it, the anticipation after the preparation, the smile on your face of a job well done, then what swiftly followed as they slid away:swear::swear: but never mind looking on the bright side, the extra puddings one might find its way to a meet, by the way does chrissy pudding go with gin ::bigsmile::thumb:

No you're right, but of course it might have fallen out of the bowl and dropped up to the ceiling, then you would need a ladder to clean it. Maybe not you could have floated up, and anyway if he hadn't invented gravity it might be all over the cooker.

I think we should be grateful to Sir Isaac:thumb:
