Does anyone know anything about these motorhomes?

same chassis as peugeot,fiat and citroen,if right hand drive gear change is like stirring a pudding left hand drive versions have a better column change. The windscreen can leak and cause coorosion on the windscreen surround. Ususal issues with cam belts.

All I've been able to establish so far is that not many seem to have been made and they are like rocking horse manure, as there doesn't seem to be much information on the net.

Many motorhome builders used this base vehicle including Hymer. The chassis is Peugeot and almost identical to the Citroen and Fiat known as the Seval cab.
Yours being a Talbot it will have the Citroen 2.5 turbo diesel which was made for the Citroen CX. As said there have been gearbox linkage issues with these models,but there are several specialists that will happily do conversion kits for them.All in all a sound older base vehicle with agricultural mechanics that can easily be repaired if and when needed.If its a Tramp then it will have the original cab with coach built body and some parts are now becoming rare such as lights etc.

I went to look at one locally yesterday and ran the damp meter over it and had a test drive, but noticed some minor bubbling on the wings. The only other reference I can find online is to one for sale in the Shetlands which is £2,000 dearer and has had a lot of body work done to the cab. I can't decide whether this indicates that people hang on to them, hence not many for sale, or the cab bodywork is expensive to get repaired. Apart from this niggle it's a very clean van which has been re-upholstered by the current owner who is selling because he's bought a Hymer 644.

Hi John, you see thousands of them in europe, and I would say spare parts are more available over there.

One of our daughters are after a bigger van, and she is the responsible one of the two. oh: She knows her budget, and sort of decided with our input on a transit base, and then is it a newer van with more miles and easier for parts, or an older van with low mileage and more difficult to obtain bits for it. oh:
But she has always been the same, if she see's something she likes, and happy with the price she will buy it.
She got the last one while we was away, and could not wait until we got home. But she was lucky and its a great motor, but her dogs have out grown it.

The one I'm looking at and the other one for sale online are both right hand drive, which may be why there aren't many for sale. The attraction for me is that it's a Hymer, with insulation and heating Having said that I'm still drawn to the bigger Hymers...

I would be the same, we down sized a bit when we got this van, mainly so Jane could not only drive it but being happy doing it.
A Class are a very different drive, although our van is a German van its right hand drive. But after an hour behind the wheel you soon get use to it.:thumb:
First impressions are god your a long way from the windscreen, but 8" in front of that is your bumper, and it seems like your sitting in the middle of the van, but its not long before its normal, anyway we need an a class that's where our dog goes when parked up on the dash board.
You cant go far wrong with a Hymer. :thumb: Bob.
