I'm going round in circles trying to get an Alko handbrake cable for our van for a reasonable price. I have been quoted £185 plus a 2 week wait from Brownhills. I've had no joy from Camper UK who need the cable number. Our problem is the garage does not want to take the cable off and tie up their space for any length of time. We can't find the number on the cable anywhere. If we could take it off we could have one made. Going round and round in circles. Is my only choice Brownhills?

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Whats your base vehicle chassis?? Find that out, and then you dont have to deal with motorhome companies. Much cheaper. (y)

Help Help Help. Chris can't sort it. (Although he did sort our tap out) He as very helpful though. If I want an official one its 6 weeks from Alco in Germany and £205......

I have tried speedy cables (not so speedy) who have a turnaround of 2 weeks...

Anyone know where I can get a handbrake cable made in a day or two.

Thanks

Sonja.

Don't know what you have got, have you got the two ends, if so can't you just get a piece of cable and join the two pieces together with U bolts , always used to , don't know if it is still ok for mot though.

Thanks Chaser. I'm not sure if the garage will do this but if I can't get anything sorted will get someone to try this.

JUST got this from another fourm

The Fiat ones might fit but I had problems getting them to fit on my 6m Hymer B564 on the Al-Ko chassis.
I used, www.speedycables, in Swansea. They suggested that I send the old cable to them and they would manufacture a new replacement using it as a pattern. Sent Monday, received back
