About to change the large roof light dome on our 1992 Hymer S670 and at the same point fit a blind and fly screen under it as it never had one fitted (who knows why).

There is a handle extension piece to lower the winder handle for when the screen runner is fitted.

The big question is - what holds the winder handle on the shaft?

Had a good look and my best guess is a snap ring inside the handle shaft, there doesn't appear to be any pin or screw holding the handle to the shaft.

Has anyone removed one of these before and if so how is it done please?

Any help very gratefully received, thanks.

    just best guesses

there is screw on the end of the shaft, hidden with a snap on plastic cover ?

or, it's an interference push on fit on a splined shaft and may need gentle prising to remove..

    Hello

Many thanks for your ideas, it made me take another look.

The handle is covered in a full length plastic cover, not just a cap that sits directly under the shaft. With a little pushing and pulling the cover started to come away, and once moved sideways there was a x head screw holding the handle to the splined shaft.

Thank you again, all is clear now.
