Have hired so a Newbie
Hi,

We have another question about our recently acquired 2003 model.

Our leisure battery is under the passenger seat and wired up with a charger as the attached photos. Is this normal or do other owners hard wire their batteries? And are there any risks the way we have it set up?

Thanks
Anthony

If the charger is there permenantly i would hardwire it but it looks ok to me.
I'd be more concerned about what its plugged into, that isnt a proper trailing socket.

I would have thought there is a risk of the crocodile clips detaching from the battery terminals whilst live.

What a bodge and very dangerous, croc clips are risky at the best of times only designed for tempory use.
I assume the Elektroblock has failed and previous owner has bodged that charger in. The battery is a Gel one and that charger is totally unsuitable for it, not a safe situation. I would get the Elektroblock sorted or replaced before using the van.
The Elektroblock will either be in front of the battery or under the other seat.

I suggest you contact A & N Caravans they are confident repairing Elektroblcks and reasonable prices.
