We have a 12 month old Hymer 698 and currently in the Murcia region of Spain and our Water Pump has just stopped working and I'm blowed if I can locate it ?.

I have found the fuse, but that is OK.

Does anybody know where the water pump is located and or can offer any advice.

Many thanks in advance

As Xabia said, bottom of the tank, don't forget there is a separate isolation switch over the door, I know I did.

Grainy photo now attached.

The pump is held in by that large blue ring around the two pipes going in to the tank. To replace make sure you buy a new pump with return valve incorporated, undo the clips holding the two pipes, marking which goes into which pipe,
unclip the connector and lift pump out. Replacement is the reverse of what you did to remove it.

Does the pump not work with any of the taps or toilet flush? I presume you have checked them all, but if not, the problem could be a failed micoswitch on one of the taps.

Thanks everyone for your advice.
Have been to a local Caravan/Motorhome dealer (Cartagena, it was Saturday and time was pressing) and alas they can't sort it. Checked the pump, the fuses, the taps etc and can't find the fault.

All they can suggest is a Hymer dealer near Alicante (Elche), but that will have to wait till Mon.

So if anyone has any other suggestions to help keep us clean till then it would be much appreciated.
I know about the separate isolation switch over the door, which is just like a light switch - could this be fused ?

One minute the water was flowing (mid cleaning teeth) then just stopped.
Very odd.

Help !

Do you have a multimeter with you? If so, trace the cable from the pump back to the connector block that feeds it, then open one of the taps and check if you are getting 12+ volts across the terminals. This will confirm whether it is the pump at fault or the power supply.

If you need a new pump a Hymer dealer will charge you a fortune for one from Hymer. In reality it is probably a Reich Twin pump rates at 19 litres per minute and 1.4bar. Many dealers sell them in their accessories shop. It is usually a different colour (black) to the Hymer one (which is white) and a different product number but it is the same pump, according to Reich when I asked them.

Hi Guys,

The dealer at Cartagena actually changed the pump and it was only then they realised the pump wasn't the problem.
He did have a Multi-Meter on the job and couldn't seem to find the problem.
Though they did say their Electrician specialist wasn't in today and maybe the Hymer dealer in Elche is our best bet.
Alicante way is where we are heading anyway.
Hopefully the issue is still under warranty as our MH is only 15mths old.

Thanks again all for your prompt responses.
Alas my elec skills are very limited and I don't have a Multi-Meter.

Aren't forums wonderful though when you are stuck with these issues so for from home.

.
Yes you have 2 years under EU law. Unless Hymer gtee is longer then that will take precedence.

I had my pump changed by the Hymer dealer in Gandia, after a couple of days the new one stopped working. As I was a long way away by then I was not best pleased as I thought the pump was faulty, messed around with it and discovered that if the connecter was moved the pump suddenly worked. Put it down to a faulty connection so I cut the connector and joined the cables directly and haven't had a problem with the pump since. Might be worth wiggling the white connector and see if the pump comes alive.

Jumar, I shall be at Caravanas Cruz (Elche) first thing on Mon and hope they can sort it.
Xabia:I shall try the wiggle technique, you never know - it could well be something simple.
And to others - thanks again for your input.

Just to update.
Problem was sorted at Caravans Cruz yesterday (Mon).
The problem was loose pins in one of the white connection blocks that come out of the Elektroblock Unit. Or to be more precise the pins in the block that relate to the water circuit were at different lengths and had somehow worked loose over time (hope that makes sense). But the really odd thing was the water isolation switch over the door was doing nothing, it was bypassed (and had been since new - 15mnths). We had always left it switched 'on', just switching on/off with the main 12v power button - so never realised. The fitter was very puzzled as to why Hymer had just fitted a switch for decoration, without passing this on to the customer.

Anyway we have water now - thanks to all for your input.
