Thought you photo buffs may like to see what 1.4g Pixel camera can do.
    follow the attached link:Eeek:

We are talking 1,474 Mega Pixels (or 1.4 Giga Pixels) here. At the moment camera manufactuers are releasing 10 or 12 meg Pix yet quite capable of Higher quality cams. with capabilities of 1,474 Meg P they are realy milking it.

I think you will appreciate the progress that has been made in the world of photography. This is a superb example, but it´s also a bit scary.

This is a photograph of the 2009 Obama Inauguration. You can see IN FOCUS the face of EACH individual in the crowd !!!

You can scan and zoom to any section of the crowd. . . just wait say ten seconds. . double click anywhere . and the focus adjusts to give you a very identifiable close up. Wait again and double-click again - AMAZING! Keep clicking.

The picture was taken with a robotic 1474 megapixel camera (295 times the standard 5 megapixel camera).Everyone attending could be scanned after the event, should something have gone wrong during it.

My first digi camera was 1.2 mpixels and for viewing on pc or printing up to a5 absolutely fine . I now have a Canon eos40d 10.5 mpixel and a Panasonic lumix 12.1 mpixel.
Both will print up to a3 with no problem. How many times do I print an a3 photo ??????
    Never !!!
We all buy the improved technology in cameras computers cars etc but do we really know or appreciate the difference or need to continually upgrade, I don't think so.
In fact I have kept the same wife for 40 years in spite of all the new models around :Wink:

I'm looking at camcorders at the moment (mine is aged!) but for photos, i use my phone (samsung g800) - the camera is 5 megs and they come up very well.

Please allowme to correct some incorrect info here.

The final picture is 1,474 megapixels.
Bu the camera that took the pictures was a Canon G10, which is a compact camera with a sensor of 14.7 megapixels. I have the Nikon equivalent P6000.

The Gigapan software put the 220 pictures together.

As far as I'm aware, the largest sensors available today are in the region of 40 megapixels, which are special backs to fit onto medium format cameras.

    Hope this helps.
