Or the more old fashioned way I used to use before Satnav, just look out for the signs, works in small towns but they don't tend to signpost them until you're near.
POI files available free for some Satnavs.

Hi
Do you mean 'how do you find them' ---do you like them ???? OR how do you locate them ??
The first---they vary a hell of a lot, some good, some fantastic:thumb:
The second-----we use vacarious book's all the airs---and the French airs book (which has many more stopping options, but is written in French---we don't read French, but understand enough)
AND---we use an online site called something like 'camping-car airs' ---again in French, but it covers all of Europe, can be bought on disc/stick or downloaded for 8€--fantastic value:thumb:------------------------------------also a HUGE amount of towns have the 'aires' emblem on a local sign-post--you soon learn to spot them !!

Hi, I use motorhomingfrance.co.uk costs £12 a year membership . it gives you a hell of lot of info ,directions to the aire also map refs for sat nav also photo's and other people's findings , also a small map of the relevant town /village . We found this info invaluable when we went the first time . I printed off the relevant pages of the areas we were going to so if the aire we were going to was full we had back up to other aires in the area. I also bought "all the aires" book and "camperstop" book. Next time we go we will also try french passion as they are places to stop at farms vineyards etc rather than just in towns/villages. All we do now when travelling in France is book the return ferry ticket and play it by aire. It helps if you have a destination aire in mind, plus a nearby back-up, but most of the time we get a spot on our first choice medium to large aires if we arrive mid-morning.

One tip for Easter travelling - Good Friday isn't a national holiday in France, so it's a good time to get in and bag your spot for the weekend.

We have found France Passion very enjoyable, usually a bit off the beaten track-but that means you see more of La France Profonde ::bigsmile:
We have never felt under pressure to buy their produce-but,we only go to ones where the produce is something we would like.

We've just come back from France for a week and used a mixture of Aires and sites. We carried the "All the Aires" book and a lot are listed with photos on the Snooper sat-nav (not cheap).

We stayed at aires in Heurtauville (11 euros) & Pont D'Ouilly (10euros) in Normany - both lovely.

We headed over to Mont St Michel to find the aire closed because they are doing a lot of work on the roads putting in a new park & ride so we ended up on the camp site there which was very nice and you can get the bus from outside the site to the Mont.

We then headed to St Malo to find all the aires closed "out of season" except one very public space for about 10 'vans not far from the tourist information but I wouldn't stay there overnight! So we stayed at Domain du Ville Huchet camp site which was lovely.

Then back to Honfleur - Very big aire there on the edge of the town - 10 euros - but very busy. We decided to stay on Camping du Phare at the other end of the town.

The moral of my story is always have a back up plan as the aires may be full or closed!
