Hi Roy, the last time we visited Honfleur we had a choice of paying by credit card or by cash.
A very popular aire, it can get very busy at times. There is a large super market a short drive
away and a Lidl store within walking distance. We will be stopping there on our way down to
Twin Lakes, we may see you there.

    Brisey.

Visa or MasterCard accepted at machine. Turn left on entering and park in the smaller area, you will be nearer to the open field picnic area and closer to the shops etc. More importantly you will not hear the clanking of the boats rigging if its windy, this can keep you awake all night. There are electricity and water point within easy reach too. if you choose your spot carefully. and the further to the eft you can go the better, you won't have people constantly driving by.

Its a great aire and being on the left its more intimate in that you don't get to notice just how big it is, and its huge.

We visited last year and used our Halifax card, it's just a glorified car park, you can get EH if your lucky but it does get busy so you need to get there early. (y)

There's also been a bread van calling round in the morning the last few times we've been there.

The payment is a simple pay and display system and takes cash or card.

One other tip. There is the main aire and a smaller section on the left before you get to the main bit.

If you can get a space in the smaller part the EHU is 16A. In the main part it is only 5A if you're even lucky enough to get one.

There's a little Casino store that's closer than the Lidl, just across the road bridge and towards the town. If you fancy a beer there's a little Tabac just across the road that's friendly enough.

We stayed in June paid cash as it wasn't working for card payments and then parked in one of the disabled bays displaying my blue badge.along side the payment ticket about an hour later when we were eating lunch there was a knock at the door it was the lady that sells the bread from the wooden hut at the entrance. I showed her the blue badge and she said but Madame you do not have to pay with the blue badge at any car park or aire in France it is a new law in France ....she then went to get a piece of paper from her hut with it all written in French and proceeded to translate it for me.
We wouldn't not pay for an aire because they are provided by the towns and villages and we like to give something back ...if they are free we like to buy something from a local shop or have a meal in a local restaurant.

I'm not sure how this would work where you have to pay before a barrier opens.

A chat over a glass of something or other may well be the order of the day Roy,
    Looking forward to it.
Let's hope the Sun Gods shine down on us this year.

Huge aire, but busy so don't leave it too late to arrive - it's about three hours from Calais via the Pont de Normandie. Ticket machines are cash and card according to CCI.

On the way to it from the autoroute there's a large Leclerc supermarket and an Elf petrol station where fuel prices are usually quite good.

Service point provision is minimal for such a a large aire so queues form in the morning.

stayed at Honfleur loads of times.Yes it's just a car park but so convenient for the town etc.Found the best time to arrive is about 11am till about 3pm after that it tends to fill up very quickly!Just when you think that there is no more space other vans arrive and park everywhere there is bit of space.Never tried the campsite just round the corner from the town!Has anyone else?

We stopped there last June, machines said card or cash, but the lady who looks after the Aire said it only takes cards.

The Vet across the road is one of the dearest in France - see my Google map.

We have used the campsite a couple of times - tried booking with no reply but when we turned up they had us on the system and all ok. Second time we turned up and got a place- it is ok with hedged off pitches but may need a long hook up cable, showers unisex - basic but lots of hot water. Can put tables etc out and sit in sun no problem - cant remember the price but cant have been that bad if we have been back.

    She is.

She's also at present the only vet in the world that doesn't make one of my dogs panic. That's worth more than she charges.
