Probably more to do with the tablet, quite a lot of them cant handle a powerfull signal as their internal circuitry isnt able to cope.
And at 1m itll get full whack!!!

Blimey, that just cured mine

I moved seat to plug into mains and it almost stopped. Moved away and back to full speed.
