A Woosh bang
Most know that my favourite thing in the world is a blue sky but I learned to enjoy bad weather when away with the family, sometimes stuck in a small van for days on end. Yes disappointed if we couldn't do things we planned, but when you look back, "stuck in a van", with rain hammering on the roof, playing cards and having a giggle with the family...Bliss, IMO it doesn't get much better than that?

Been there, done that Jim, got the T shirt ... and it's no fun with two mad dogs and a muddy site ..

yes, it's fun for a day or so, but the novelty soon wears off ... Holidays are not cheap so I aint going anywhere to watch the rain, I can do that in Suffolk

It was great in the RV, tons of space and a place for everyone to do there own thing.. but not in a 12ft caravan... I value my sanity too much :roflmto:

I tend to be a bit of a nerd about weather, but that’s partly due to flying as [STRIKE]a hobby[/STRIKE] an obsession and a former career at sea. According to this website* things should improve next weekend as a high-pressure area becomes established. Please note, [HI]this is a general weather forecast site and not exclusively flying stuff.[/HI]

So far he seems to have been reasonably accurate, with the caveat that the accuracy decreases the further in to the future you predict. The forecast is updated every couple of days, so those with the flexibility to depart when they please may be able to use the information.

This year’s flying trip to France was abandoned in favour of Motorhoming around La Rochelle and the Cantal Region. At least the weather was tolerable…

Just spoke to my Mum and she says weather will improve from 26th July as the Jet Stream is shifting North.

You heard it here first:thumb:

I was supposed to be touring North wales at the moment but other things have cropped up as they do. I am still hoping to get over before the end of the season before I head down to portugal though.

The weather wouldn't have stopped me going as North Wales is beautiful when it's sunny and beautiful when its wazzing it down.

Today was the day we planned to head for Wales for a three week holiday .. but not with this weather, I've had enough of sitting on wet sites to last a lifetime.. hopefully we'll get away before the new school term starts in Sep. let's hope it improves before the onset of winter .

Anyone else changed plans or cancelled due to weather ?
It's a blessing in disguise Jim, what does Wales have to offer a Scotsman that lives in one of the nicest parts of England. People travel for miles to spend time on your doorstep, me included. What does Wales have to offer apart from foreign road signs grumpy people that speak a very strange language and wall to wall rain. Now tell me that your wife is welsh:Blush:

No treacle never been there, I did spend a couple of weeks in Snowdonia once, it was ok but nothing special. I much prefer the Lake District or Scotland for such scenery. I thought that the doubling up on the road signs was a total waste of money and the people were not over hospitable so we've not been back.
I'm sure that Pembrokeshire is very nice.:thumb:

I like Pembrokshire.. it's like Cornwall before it was invaded and spoiled by commercialisation .. must dig out some pictures.. but you are correct we don't need to go anywhere.., so it's no hardship not going away .. if we lived in the city or some grotty council estate that would be different..

My experience of Wales is that the North is less hospitable than the South ..

I must admit that I have only ever heard good feedback of the area so perhaps we will give it a go next year.:thumb:
