Hi, I have just joined the site as it looks informative and friendly. Following taking early retirement, we (my wife, 2 dogs and a cat) have recently emigrated to Lower Normandy, France and have just bought our first 'camping car' as they call them over here (motor home to you and me) - its a 2002 Hymer Swing 625 which we pick up on Friday from Sud Loire Caravannes near Le Mans.
Any advice or experience anyone has with this model would be much appreciated - it has done around 65k miles and cost around £12k (equiv), so we're hoping its a good buy (excellent exchange rate at the moment), fingers crossed!
Also, if anyone has any recommendations for inexpensive sites/aires in the Orne/Manche/Mayenne areas, we'd love to know - planning a few days away somewhere to get to know the Hymer while the weather is still half decent. Thanks everyone.

Welcome, lots of nice Aires near you, I'll try and remember a few for you, but there are many books about that list all the Aires, you are going to need one to get the most out of your camping car. You are also starting at the best time of year, all the holidaymakers have gone back to work and there will be plenty of space in the Aires
Have fun

Welcome, we are a bit further south than you in department 56500.Cannot help you with the Hymer but get the Aires book, also we look at the area we want to go and then google "campsites near .............."and always comes up trumps . Enjoy the great weather we have currently.

welcome to the fun a few members around you. There are so many aires you can generally just see one when you need to stop. Inland tend to be free, coastal ones charged for with exceptions both ways. All the aires books though not complete are a good start as is "Camperstop" all available from "vicarious books" don't forget to ask for your funsters discount.

Welcome. We are newbies too (to the club, we have been motorhoming over 30 years). You are in a beautiful part of France there. The Aires are a brilliant way to get touring. The books are very useful. Enjoy your new life in the motor home, it is great…..
