Hi folks. Thanks for having us My partner and I (along with large woolly dog) are looking to buy our first motorhome for the purpose of travelling around Europe for a couple of years.

Please may I ask a few questions?

1. We have a budget of around £12,000 (£15,000 tops) Is this realistic and are we likely to find anything halfway decent for this sort of money? One we are looking at currently is a Compass Commodore, 1999, 47,000 miles, for around £13,000. Any thoughts on that?

2. Where would be some likely places to start looking? We have come across numerous fake/scam ads online.

3. What would be the best makes/models for us to look at? We currently have a Citroen estate which has been nothing but trouble so we're not very keen on French, unless you would advise that French motorhomes are generally reliable.

4. We would really like an automatic gearbox but there seem to be very few auto motorhomes around. Is there a reason for this?
