Hi all,
just found this site, and it appears to be a good collection of
fun and banter for all!

anyhow, i have had a couple of vw t25's inc a (presently) karmann gipsy.

BUT...
i now am in possesion of aN auto trail chinook 1988 6 berth.
looks top condition, however, i don't have any of the manuals,
info of marque etc.. could anyone assist please?

i wouldn't ask, however, i seem to have explored the net for
this and drawn a blank, even with another 6 berth...

so HELP pls!
thanks in advance...

Hi are you sure it is an Autotrail, the chinook is a model that was made by Newlander of Hull, based on a Dodge chassis if I remember correctly, if not then on a Japanese chassis. What is the base vehicle. Mine is a 6 berth Newlander based on a merc chassis is it similar?

Yup, loved the gipo, but time goes on eh?

re. the van:

its a citroen base model c25 1988

it looks as if the stickers are the right vintage,
and they 'state' autotrail chinook 6.
looks as if the 6 is an afterthought, however,
its the same colour and font.

any help would be great!:thumb:

be everywhere, but i still am yet to see one with
6 berth....

i will be picking the truck up on tues, so have time
to have a reet snoop over it then...
funny how some are worth nothing, and some still
command 6-8K. funny old world!

so, auto trail direct eh?
good communications with a chap called colin.
sent me some stuff, and layouts, and even asked
for the chassis number to try an help me some more....

he stated that there were an amount of 'specials' built
around that time, so all being well i will find out
exactly what i have!

i know its 'boring' for some, but you have to know
the history of your 'van, right?

could have been built for the krankies, you never know...........:Eeek:

Well, update and a close (probably) to this thread.
Mr auto trail (colin) has informed me that the interior
and external panels " were probably 1 of 12" that they
produced ever.... cool! so its no surprise that i have
not seen any the same on t'bay!

so there we have it!
thanks for all the comments / pointers chaps!
