Yesterday-in a moment of madness- drove from Suffolk to Hebden Bridge (Halifax ) and p/xed my trusty LHD Multipla and some cash for a 1989 Ducato 1.9D Globetrotter. The drive back was a little scary- cannot believe lack of power- but is ony a 1.9 naturally aspirated (non-turbo )
Anyone know how to get more horses out of engine ? Are there any easyish engine conversions? can I add turbo? and where is the heater for the hot water located ? Came away with volumes of paperwork -all in German ! . Apparently imported into UK in 2009. All answers gratefully received in advance.
If anyone in Suffolk/North Essex /South Norfolk has a similar one would love to know how everytrhing works.:)

Welcome , also in sunny Coastal Suffolk.. cracking day today..

sorry can't help with your question about the engine..

The water heater is generally hidden in the bottom of a cupboard or wardrobe.. , usually a Truma.. if so there should be a controller on the wall somewhere ..
there are several models.. your paperwork should have a Truma owners manual which is in several languages

Hi, can't help with the engine but as Jim said above - have a root through the cupboards. If you can find the make/model then the internerd is a great source of PDFs

No chance of any help from me I'm afraid, total non-techy (which is one reason why this forum's so good) but all the same:

Wow! Thanks for all replies and welcomes -what a friendly bunch!
Found water heater-under drivers seat! There is as a very strong safe in wardrobe and I think heater was moved to make room for it-but ...there is no vent in body for heater -odd. Taking it to a diesel specialist on Wed -will feel better when I get a report from them about engine condition. Otherwise loving it-on way back from picking it up out of Halifax stuck in traffic when it dawned on me I could just pull over and have a brew -so I did -it was great ! Tea -not beer ! )

Ahh! You have found one of the first joys of motor homing.
Need a comfort break, brew or a snack?
Just look for the next lay-by.

Richard.

Four hours stuck on the M5 - cuppa & a pee - no problem!
Even considered hiring out the loo at a fiver a go.

Hope you don't mind me mentioning it @triumph56 , but after 5 posts you can't actually 'post' on the forum any more until you subscribe. It's only £15 per year so I'm sure you'll agree it's more than worth it! You'll get lots of help & advice, jokes & insults, and access to more of the forum than you can get as a 'visitor'. Oh, and did I mention the jokes and insults??? :D
