Help with wiring 2010 Ford Transit (1 Viewer)

HELP PLEASE

I have just won a Dash Cam! It has a large plug which fits into a cigar lighter and it seems to be live all the time. Can I cut the plug off and wire into to a switched connection some where?

I have a Hobby Ford Transit 2010 reg.

possibly, but probably not as the one i have is 5v and the plug steps down the voltage

If your cigarette lighter socket is live all the time, you have the Ford twin battery setup.

The starter battery is isolated when the ign is off so there is no danger of running it down. You are simply drawing power from the aux battery.

Cant you just unplug the cam?
