HELP - Overnight Carlisle (1 Viewer)

We have to make an urgent visit to Carlisle in Cumbria, for 3 nights starting Sunday 9th February.

Does anyone have information on Sites or safe overnight parking in that area?

We vist Carlisle often although never with the Motorhome, we have seen signs for these two site

There is a large car park down by the Castle where I have seen many Motorhomes park but don't know of the overnight there.

There is also a site at Gretna called Bairds and its only about £5 return on the train to Carlisle so this may be a better option.

You could try the local super market, they are normally pretty help full when it's urgent especially Aldi's or Lidel's hope this help's

Try Dumfries and Carlisle caravan centre, Carlisle branch 01228 674570.

Their site at Carlisle is just off the roundabout intersecting M6 and the A7. Junction 44, M6.

It is a shit of a roundabout take it slow and easy, follow directions A7 to Longtown/Hawick/Edinburgh (North). They are on the Left hand side of the A7 about half mile from the roundabout.

They have a big yard and in an emergency may let you park up for the night ASK ! or at least put you in the direction of a safe sleepover nearby .

There is also the big garden centre, Houghton Hall nearby, they've a huge car park there. Might be worth phoning them to ask if you could stay overnight, they can only say no. Good luck!
