HELP PLEASE my tribute t-625 m/home door, has a "stay" which allows it to open and "stay" at aprox
180 degrees, [this stops it hitting the side of the van] what i want is a "stay" that will stop
90 degrees, as well, so when the awning is up, the door will not, hit the awning wall.

note there are a lot of window/cupboard stays, but they, are not the right thing and to flimsy
for a door when the wind is blowing :helpsos:

Hi George, Go down to your local scrap yard and get a gas strutt and brackets off a hatch back like a Corsa .
Position brackets on inside of hatch where required to hold it at 90 degrees.
The strutts are strong enough to hold against wind.:thumb:

another alternative again from the scrap yard is a piece of seatbelt.
if you use press studs to fix it then you have the option of holding the door at any position you like. and use a bungy cord to hold it open.

thanks lads any more ideas, the old seat belt looks best at this time, but would press studs hold it ?
what are those "things" called where they go through a slot in the webbing, and the "thing" twists to go across the slot to hold it to the door/wall.
but as anyone got another answer??

the press studs should hold if they are pulling sideways another option is velcro.
or maybe you could get hold of a wire type rear van door stay off a vauxhall combo or escort van.
