Right I give up... it has happened over and over again .. but yesterday morning my hand got stuck inside and I was trying to reach the phone with my foot to call for help.... Anybody else got rid of these silly, sliding doors which jam shut if the stuff inside moves? What with please?

Yesterday I managed to open it a couple of inches to slide my arm in to try and unwedge whatever was blocking it and got stuck for fifteen minutes.. enough is enough. :(

Not stuck here .. just showing how narrow the opening can be.

Joy, get yourself organised and put stuff in crates/baskets etc that way it can't move and jam the door!

im a not so newbie
If i wasn't a Gent id say don't put so much cr*p in there :D

But seriously do as @Minxy Girl says put things in small containers or have some plywood cut to hold individual items (y)

Or have a 90 deg door made and hinge it

Mel.. it was the two special boxes this time that had caused it. The bottom one had moved diagonally and the corner jammed it. :( I want a simple 'door' type solution. :(

Had the same problem, I put a false wall on the right hand side in front of the runner so I could always open the door far enough to get inside.

Does it jam because of stuff getting in the slot the door goes back into if so could you fix some angle iron to stop stuff getting into the slot?. Or if stuff gets too far back into the cupboard and fouls the door as it slides back a false back to the cupboard in front of the door.

No there is no slot. What happens is the door slides open, along the wall of the cupboard. I put stuff in .. When it is closed there is just a cupboard behind the door... with a gap between 'stuff' and the cupboard wall that the door slides along.. But if on a journey the stuff somehow moves up to the wall, then when I try to open the cupboard, the slider won't move because the stuff in the cupboard is up against the wall. Hope I explained that .. bit hard without you seeing it.

What Greenway is saying is put a false wall on the inside side wall so that as you open and close it then the slider is sliding in and out of that compartment and the false wall stops stuff sliding to the real side wall.

Yes that is its real purpose me thinks and then the problem wouldn't arise .. but I don't have one. :(

You mean you don't use the obligatory non-slip stuff ... c'mon Joy, it's only £1 in the pound shops (well fancy that!) and has a multitude of uses, if you use the non-slip stuff and boxes too there shouldn't be any risk of it blocking the side/rear of the door as you open it.

Wrong stuff, that's more for lining the bottom of drawers etc to keep them clean, you want the rubber 'net' type stuff like this:

Simple answer Joy is to keep a specially trained hamster (other animals are available ) in the cupboard. :imoutahere:At least you will be able to stroke it while your hand is stuck in there.:whistle2:

Hang on while I look at my watch
You don't need any of that fancy non slip stuff. Wack a 6 inch nail through the box and it's going nowhere!
