second is advice on selecting a builder to convert either a fiat/peugot/citroen or a 4M mercedes ( we don't know which is the best van. help again ):Eeek::thumb: Thank you in advance, cinders

Al - It's usually not a good idea to put your e-mail on a public forum unless you use the word hyphen and dot and even then these SPAM merchants will get you - of course you might be rather partial to a bit of SPAM :ROFLMAO:

Cinders, what anti-virus have you got?

What anti-spam have you got?

What firewall do you use?

Do you control cookies?

Cinders, there ain't no such thing as a best van.
They are all over-priced, under-reliable heaps of junk serviced at rip-off prices.
It's a jungle out here.
And that's what the happy owners tell us

Now the bad news.

There are ones that fit your backside and ones that don't.
And boy, is a comfortable ride important.
Stop sniggering.

I can get into my old nail with a bad back, drive for several hours, and get out with a pain free back.
I reckon I got the bad back driving my previous nail.

There are petrol/propane ones, and there are diesel ones.
Propane is the cheapest to run.
Unless you run on cooking oil.

There are ones with chain driven camshafts, and ones with lacky band driven camshafts.
The chain ones are cheaper to service.

There are short ones, medium ones, long ones, and extra long ones.
Short one's go where extra long one's fear to tread.
Especially noticeable around narrow gateways from narrow lanes.

There are ones with twin wheels at the back, and ones with 2 wheels at the back.
Twin wheelers have huge mudguards inside the van.

There are ones with lower floors and ones with higher floors.

There are attractive ones and ugly ones.

There are ones 3.5 ton and under, and ones over 3.5 ton.
The licence you have makes a difference to the weight you can drive.
Recovery for over 3.5 ton can be expensive and difficult to find.

I suggest that you test drive a few to find the one you enjoy driving.
And then hire one and drive it round for a day.
If you don't like it at the end of the day, start again.

Tedious, but there again, you didn't marry the first girl you kissed, or did you?
Don't answer that out loud, I prefer not to be be cited in a divorce.

And then find a builder that specialises in the sort of van you choose, and does the sort of conversion you like.

The easy way is always mined.

Why on earth do you want to sell a van like that?

One way is a contract sale on our forecourt, takes the hassle out of it.
