Hi, just joined and hoping to pick up a few tips.
We did a van conversion last year (an ex ambulance). We kept the cost as low as possible as we not sure we would take to a motorhome having been tent campers. Well we love it and have just bought an old Hymer A Class. We've been doing it up over the last couple of months and had our first trip out last week. We want to tour the Outer Hebrides later this year.

He is 17 years old, but was in good original condition. A bit of work on the suspension, a good service, recovered the seats, replaced curtains and we are ready to roll. Absolutely loving the drop down bed, which was one of the main reasons for wanting this type of van, and he's no longer than the conversion web had last year, so fits on the drive nicely.

an old Hymer A Class.

Everybody loves them.

One thing to watch on any A class is windscreen insurance, can cost £4000 to replace, make sure you are covered.

Hello and welcome, sounds as if you are ready to enjoy your Hymer like good wine I think they improve with age, just need TLC, have you given it a name. Scotland is just made for motorhomes.:welcomefunster:
