Retired early after 36 years in the Civil Service and soon realised that I was doomed to a life of doing the job at the top of my wifes TO DO List and then realising she had added two more to the bottom. Got myself a very cheap motorhome and decided that if we liked it over a period of 6 months I would cash in some of my pension and buy a newer one. Took a part time job where I work alternate weekends and we committed ourselves to going away on the weekends I was not working. That was 3 years ago and we still have the same old girl...EFFIE. She is a 1988 Autotrail Apache with Mercedes Petrol engine. Excellent bodywork and a luxury interior. Managing to stick to going away twice a month but the garden and the decorating are suffering!!

Hi & welcome. The age of your motorhome isn't important, what matters is your enjoyment.

pay someone else to do the jobs as the one thing that is not replaceable in this world is time, so enjoy your time it really is the only thing that is priceless.

welcome to the mad house where everyone enjoys time to the full.

Our gardening is getting my 23yr old son to cut the hedge twice a year, me killing the weeds coming through the gravel and decorating, what's decorating? (n)

    Hi and welcome

Just back from 6 weeks away and it will only take a couple of days to knock the garden into shape so a small price to pay for 6 weeks travelling.
