We are in the process of buying our first motorhome and my head is buzzing with all the terminology . So looking for lots of advice from all you experts .

Just took me ages to work out road tax and I definitely need to check out the insurance thread, as so far I am failing miserably to find insurance .

Can anyone advise on what is a reasonable storage rate should I actually be lucky enough to find anyone not already full:worried:

Hello and welcome. Try ringing a few storage places up and see what facilities they offer so that you can compare.
Storage inside will be dearer than outside. CCTV, locked gates , a watchman maybe.

Prices will vary area to area I guess.

Hello and welcome from West Midlands.

Insurance for motorhomes is not something covered by the car people. It's done through specialist brokers like cars used to be before. Try Comfort Insurers, Adrian Flux etc. also Caravan Club.

To get the most from the forum you will need to subscribe. It's well worth £15 and will allow you to continue posting as well as letting you into areas that non members can't access.

Hi and welcome

We well remember how confused we were when we started out 4 years ago and we're still learning.

We pay £650 a year for secure storage with the Caravan Club, have to be a member.

Good luck and enjoy.

Our storage - on a CaSSOA Gold Site - is £780 per year, but worth it because of the level of security and the 24 hours a day 365 days a year access. As for insurance, we found that Comfort gave us the best deal. The highest quote we had was £950 but we ended up paying £353 with Comfort.

The problem we have around here is the lack of decent storage sites. They all seem to have waiting lists and so they can charge pretty much what they like.
