Well we are finally going to realise our dream (or nightmare??), taking 6 months out to spend the winter in France, Spain & Portugal - and then who knows where after that!!

Any advice and information would be most welcome as we head off in a couple of weeks through France Western Route (what to you all advise?) and then slowly down through western Spain and into Portugal, before we arrive at Cabopino for Christmas and New Year.

Getting excited and just a little apprehensive......................

Hello Steve
What a small world as they say! We are in Deerness on Mainland Orkney - a bit breezy today!!
I am sure you will understand the lure of escaping the winter here in the isles.

Yes - absolutely!

We sometimes come over to Mainland with the MH for a few days, and Deerness has a couple of our favourite "wild camping" spots - The Geo, and Mull Head.
