Has anyone any experience of using, installing Heads up Display units. Do they work, are there any issues fitting them. We love driving abroad but it is impossible to see clearly the speed in kilometers, so considering HUD as an option. Any thoughts appreciated.

Have it in the car as factory option and I like it, some people don't. Never tried the DIY ones as I just use the sat nav for speed indication it tells me speed limits and actual speed and beeps if I am going too fast.

I bought one off Amazon, used it going to York over the weekend, have to say it was excellent, it gets brighter depending on the light but it was constantly good, even tells you what the speed limit is on the road you're travelling, approaching junctions what lane to be in etc, even gives speed camera warnings, mine was a Garmin, about £50 but i consider it money well spent!

If you're going too fast, you'll see blue lights in the mirrors :)

My dash cam can be switched to speed display and it is sat on the dash not at the top of the windscreen. There's no need to be UP there as the dashboard is already higher than a car.

Never heard of it so a look on ebay tells me what it is and several for sale cheap may tell how good it is.

I had one on a Peugeot 3008 factory fitted, can't say I ever really took any notice of it once the novelty wore off.
