I lived and worked in Oldham before retiring to Wales, this site is not on the best side of town to be honest but the reviews say security is ok. Never stayed because they used to be a length restriction but can't see it mentioned on their web site now, might be worth checking with them first.

We stayed there for a few days in September 2014 Bill. Some photos Here. We had no problem pitching our van, which is 22 feet long. RVs can be accommodated as well because they have a large hard standing area as well as the 5 laid out pitches. Very friendly couple, secure site, and a pub across the road :)

There are bus stops nearby for going into Oldham or other local towns. From Oldham town centre there are trams and buses into Manchester &c.

The approach instructions say to enter Roundthorn Road from the northern end but it is easier from the south. The northern end is on a bus route, so passable, but there are a lot of residents' cars parked there so it can be a bit narrow in places.
