Good afternoon,
have now booked our first Euro trip. We are heading down to Hourtin Plage, to stay on the Airotel de la cote dArgent site. Was just wandering if anyone had stayed there and what they thought of it. Have booked for 10days so please be kind!!! :ROFLMAO:

Hi , I can't offer an opinion on the campsite , but the area is lovely.
if you need somewhere to visit while you are there, try the dune du pyla , about 70 miles from you southwards, it's a fanastic 110 mtr high sand dune massive, hard work walking up the steps to top but well worth the struggle for the views and when you run/slide down ( like ski-ing down ) great fun free.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
We have some dear friends that live just outside Hourtin, the Gironde is a truly beautiful place to stay, the best wine vineyards in the world on your door step, the Cote Savage if too scary doesn`t matter as there are three inland lakes close buy, bike rides through the forest, local wines and food gives a perfect setting for a wonderful relaxing break.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
You have to pay to park at the Dune now though!

Think it's free for the first hour or 90 mins, by the time you've both been to the loo and had a look round the 'market' and perhaps had a drink or ice cream, that isn't long enough to get up and down the Dune if you want to stop and enjoy the view from the top.
