Could do with suggestions from the Fun Massif!!
We've got a Zenec nav unit in our x250 Ducato base m/h. To which I've fitted DAB option. Now the unit has a parking brake sense which prevents operation of DVD/TV etc when driving. Fair enough but as the DAB input is treated as DVB input it means I can't tune or change stations on DAB without having the handbrake on. There's a warning appears on the screen when handbrake is off and you try and enter DAB mode.
I'd like to disable the handbrake sense (not advised I know!) but checking the voltage on the unit' sense lead I've got 6v handbrake off, 0v handbrake on (both with lead connected and dis connected from head unit) Hoping I could just cut the cut the lead or put a 12v feed to the sense lead on the head unit and over ride the sense. Can anyone suggest a way of over riding the sense? Or tell me why I've got 6v on the sense? Thanks in advance.
