I cant find any threads on the subject here so just wondered how often it should be comprehensivley carried out and what it involves from fixtures and fittings to seals and moisture ingress checks ? how thorough are they or is it possible to do your own ?
I have a moisture meter and am pretty competant at renovating and repairs to homes and some vehicles and mates who are a gas safe plumbing mh owner & neic sparky for the electrics .
Or is it best to just book in to a specialist firm, at what average cost ?

thanks for any input :thumb:

If the van is still under manufacturers warranty then you need to have it done every twelve months by a competent registered person or dealer

If not then it is a good idea to have it done to check gas and electrics plus DAMP ingress!

There are a couple of authourised mobile engineers who are members of Fun

I had mine done two weeks ago by a very thorough mobile engineer at my home, £130.... Last year took it to the supplying dealer who charged £180, realised later the dealer was using a mobile engineer, draw your own conclusions!!

Hab service

Why not take a look at the Approved Workshop web site and ring a local engineer/workshop and talk to them about habitation servicing and what's involved.

I have a vested interest as an engineer but I do believe that it is money well spent and can save you money in the long run.
